I Want to Believe

I want to believe. I can't wait for the movie either...

(No news to report on Conspiracy X I'm afraid...)

I've recently been running a one-shot game of Con X using the first edition rules. Still looking forward to the release of the 2nd ed supplements (I hope).

On a different note, lately I've been thinking about possible extras for research in Con X. It's implied in the various supplement books that humans made big leaps in science through precognitive influences 'hunches' etc. It occurred to me that research in game could come with a way for testing for a 'hunch' (possibly only when the player says that they'd like to get the extra breakthrough). such a breakthrough might be the equivaklent of multiple breakthroughs, or a higher level of success (such as leading to complete understanding of how a Saurian power claw works, etc). I then thought that failure in this instance could lead to a test for corruption - thus this kind of corruption would lead towards the mad scientist archetype. AS a nasty extra, possibly the Seepage influences any breakthrough in which there is a failure whilst invoking a hunch - leading to technology influenced by the darkest parts of the human psyche. Any thoughts on this idea?

That sounds just like what the Research rules are for, and very in keeping with the plans of Aegis. Keep at it!!

I think I'll try and work out something more concrete. I'm sort of liking the idea of an alternate history game in which Oppenheimer got corrupted... 'I am become death, destroyer of worlds.'

Well, the idea creeped *me* out.
